No-clipse

Um.. so did your solar eclipse look like mine? Just a vast endless stretch of grey as far as the eye can see? Ok good just checking I didn't miss out for the SECOND time. All those warnings, 'Oh don't burn your retinas'... heh yeah right.

I will be sure not to do that...
In other news little Barclay has the vets today, look how happy he is.

Stuffs been going fiiiiine, got told where my last placement is for sign-off which I'm really happy about as the area I got given. I'm trying to work a lot of shifts at my job to save up for a car because I'll be moving come summer time and will need a car. Ugh I know, the time has come to actually purchase a car. After all these years of dodging car ownership. All these years of sympathetic nodding when my friends have told me how much they had to fork out on their crappy motors. You guys, I'm poor. Am fully intending on spending my last instalment of student loan on said car.

Test Drive Disaster

Remember my dream car?

We went to test drive it last night - my god some people are dishonest. After being told there were no faults, no work needed to be done and being encouraged to test drive it (foolish given the state it was!)...

We pulled away, the airbag light immediately came on, the rev gauge didn't work at all, the oil light came on if you went over 30, the steering was aligned, the suspension made weird noises.... what a wreck! Which was such a shame as it looked lovely from the outside.

Of course we drove it back to the seller's house and her step father (a mechanic) asked how it was. We obviously said we'd be leaving it thanks but no thanks and told him about the faults and each and every fault he tried to make out like it was no big deal. I'm surprised the whole thing hadn't blown up, especially with the oil light coming on! Overall - a lucky escape!

All that Glitters is not Gold

In the last few days I saw my dream car advertised for a fraction of it's normal price

Yes don't laugh, I love smart cars. Anyway so it's a smart car, the convertible version, purpley blue and the paint has glitter in it! Seriously, my ultimate perfect car!

BUT after a check was run on it, turns out it's been written off previously, not badly, cat D which is like superficial stuff like scratches on body work, nothing serious and in 2008 so obviously it's been running fine since. It should be silver but obviously it isn't....am going to see it tomorrow night I think but the seller didn't tell me about it voluntarily and I sent her a message to say could she tell me any details about what happened... so far mysteriously silent.

Anyways we'll see, tomorrow should be busy, day off from work, funeral and then going to see the car nearby.

Let the lesson be learnt...

The paintwork that glitters may not be gold...
