End Of Year One

Well chums it's the end of my first year at uni, it's gone so fast. All my paperwork is handed in, my placement is now over and I was really pleased with my mark. I got my first card from a patient which was really nice.

Especially now I can tuck it into my over large portfolio! Just one more lesson and then it's the summer holidays, Rome and Ibiza, yay!

Planting Time

I did some work on the garden this weekend and although it was all looking quite nice I was lacking actual plants so it was rather bare. I picked up a few from the Range.

I got a pepper, tomatoes, rosemary and mint

And raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and I resuscitated a lavender and heather that the boyfriend has strimmed several times

Luggage Drama

I've got two holidays lined up this summer, one where I get hold luggage (yay BA!) and one where I don't (boooo Easy Jet). And I needed a little hand luggage suitcase, I looked all over and everything was just a bit too expensive until I discovered the luggage section of Roys of Bowthorpe.

Check out this little beauty, and for £19.99 too, score! Cheap and cheerful and purple!

I Scream, You Scream, Let's Make Ice Cream!

What's for dessert you ask? Why, home made ice cream of course, the boyfriend and I spotted Angel Delight ice cream mix and decided to try it out.

You put 150ml of milk in a bowl and add in the mix

Whisk it for five minutes

Stir in a little something extra (next trial flavour is biscuit pieces!)

Freeze for four hours

Tastyyyyyyyyy

And no ice cream maker required!

Sunday Gardening

I decided today was the day, the day to sort my garden out. First the raised bed, I picked a really wonky uneven spot in the corner.

Yes I could have flattened the ground and dug up the grass but this seemed like a lot of effort so instead I just covered the ground in newspaper.

Got a bit of compost...

Petted my gardening assistant...

Et voila!

Next stop the border, it looked lovely last year but since then the lawn just kept growing into it and I'm far too lazy to keep digging it up

So I dug it up, added in some edging then lots of compost... it's a bit wonky but it was hot and that's as good as it's going to get people

Last item of business, plant some cat grass courtesy of my mother for my gardening assistant, sorted!

Sea Palling

The boyfriend, some friends and I enjoyed lovely Sea Palling on Sunday, it was a scorcher and everyone got sunburnt apart from me - ha ha ha, the boyfriend's skin is peeling as I type.

I enjoyed a little paddle and I sunned myself, also I found the sand is a very useful bottle holder.

In other news I have booked another holiday after Rome to Ibiza with my family (not to the party bit, to the relaxing bit) so that will hopefully be fun, I'm looking forward to it. Life of a student, eh?

OSCEs

Well my chums, what have I been up to so far this week... I have been revising and taking my two OSCE exams at uni for the end of year. I had to write on the flip chart during the skills lab for Dr ABCDE so my notes were... Ok I just stole the flip chart page. I did write it though! So I revised from the giant poster and I still forgot bits of it in the exam. Oh well, feeling a bit frazzled now.

I got a new raised bed that the boyfriend put together for me, good of him. Now I need to buy some compost to go in it, find a good place for it and get planting stuff.

And I made a discovery - when you run out of soy sauce, use two teaspoons of marmite, now you know
